Overview
Hour Buddy is a flip-to-start task timer designed to make time easier to see and easier to manage. Rather than relying on buttons or menus, the timer starts, pauses and resets simply by being flipped or tilted, using a built-in gravity sensor. It is suited to any workspace or study environment where a clear, low-effort way of tracking time is useful, whether that is structuring focused work sessions, running Pomodoro-style breaks, timing workouts or keeping everyday tasks on schedule.
Simple, Intuitive Operation
The gravity sensor removes the need to navigate settings mid-task. Flipping the cube starts or resumes the countdown, and flipping it again pauses or resets it, so time can be managed with a single, natural movement rather than several button presses. This makes Hour Buddy particularly useful for anyone who finds it hard to judge how much time has passed, or who benefits from a visual, tactile sense of time rather than glancing at a phone or screen. It is a straightforward way to make abstract time feel more concrete during transitions between tasks.
Flexible Timing Modes
Hour Buddy offers four preset countdown intervals of 5, 10, 25 and 50 minutes, covering common formats such as short breaks or full Pomodoro sessions. For tasks that do not fit a preset, a custom countdown can be set for up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds using the dedicated minute, second and settings controls. A count-up stopwatch mode is also included for timing tasks of unknown length. The timer remembers the last custom setting used, even after being switched off, so a preferred routine does not need to be re-entered each time.
Practical Everyday Use
An on-screen low battery indicator gives advance warning before the timer needs charging, and a built-in 500 mAh lithium battery is topped up via USB-C, reaching a full charge in around two hours. The switch should be kept in the off position while charging. A default one-minute alarm sounds at the end of a countdown, and this can be silenced at any time by flipping the timer or pressing any button, useful in shared workspaces or quiet study areas. A sound-off mode is also available for fully silent timing, and a factory reset can be carried out by holding the M and S buttons together while switching the timer on.

Hour Buddy is made from durable ABS plastic in a compact white finish, with a lightweight design that suits desks, study spaces or kitchens. It is not intended for use in humid or high-temperature environments, so it is best kept to standard indoor conditions.
