Overview

The Bakker Elkhuizen Footrest No. 4 is an ergonomic footrest designed to support comfortable positioning of the feet while encouraging subtle movement during seated work. Suitable for office and home workspaces, its reversible construction provides two different height positions, allowing users to vary their foot position throughout the working day.

The footrest is designed around the principle that comfortable working does not need to mean sitting completely still. Its flexible surfaces respond slightly under pressure, while the textured areas provide tactile stimulation underfoot. Together, these features encourage small movements and postural adjustments without requiring users to interrupt their work.

Flexible Adjustment for Everyday Comfort

Footrest No. 4 can be flipped over to change between its two available height positions. The lowest position is 70 mm and the highest is 205 mm, providing flexibility when positioning the feet beneath a workstation.

The 450 mm wide by 370 mm deep footplate provides a substantial area for both feet. The responsive construction allows the surfaces to flex slightly under pressure, helping create a more comfortable and dynamic feel than a completely rigid foot support.

The rounded massage ribs provide tactile contact beneath the feet and can offer a gentle massage-like sensation when used barefoot or in socks. This feature also encourages users to make small movements while seated.

Designed for Active Working

Maintaining some movement during the working day can help keep the legs and feet active. Footrest No. 4 supports this approach by allowing users to shift their feet and make subtle positional changes while remaining seated.

The footrest can be repositioned easily when a different foot position is preferred. At 1.6 kg, it is practical to move between positions or work areas, making it suitable for both permanent desk setups and flexible home working environments.

Sustainable Design

Footrest No. 4 is manufactured from 100% polyethylene (PE) and contains 50% post-consumer recycled plastic. Using recycled material gives previously used plastic a new application and reduces reliance on newly produced raw material.

The product is 100% recyclable and is designed to provide long-term use. Because recycled plastic can vary naturally between production batches, the exact colour mix may differ slightly. The product remains dark grey overall, with variations in the recycled material creating a distinctive appearance.

Polyethylene provides a durable and wear-resistant construction that is easy to clean and intended for long-term everyday use. The footrest has a maximum permitted user weight of 150 kg and is supplied with a manual.
